What? 40 miles? It's good that its fully electric and all but a lot of people travel that far to get to work, I doubt people want to keep charging up all the time. It's good to see electric cars NOT looking like toys though.

Car looks nothing like the concept design. That is what created the hype for this car. Not only would it be eco-friendly and go 40 miles on a charge - but the car actually looked cool. Who wants a car that isn't due in showrooms until 2010/2011 that looks like just a redesigned Saturn Ion or Malibu with upgraded lights. I had hopes for GM, but not any more.

Yeah I just checked out the concept pics and it did look far cooler before. Maybe not practical, with the small windshield, but definitely cooler. This Volt sort of looks like any other sedan.

Toyota and Honda also have very promising electric car programs in the pipes so I'm not sure if the Volt has what it takes to save GM.

Why not Chevrolet sell in Australia? I still have not seen any American cars in Sydney except old cars from 60s & 70s!!!!

Damn!!! Australia needs economic globalisation or interconnectedness.

How do we know that electricity is cleaner? Where does the electricity actually come from? Not potentially come from, like wind, solar, or some other hope for the future, but Actually come from? A coal burning power plant? A nuclear power plant? How much cleaner in actuality is electricity today versus gasoline per mile driven, and considering the disposal hazard of the L-ion batteries? Is it really substantially less environmental impact today, or just someday in the future when we have complimentary technologies? What ever happened to GM's hydrogen skateboard platform?

Um... You haven't seen a Ford then? Ford are American, but Chevy might only sell left-hand drive cars.

This car would look awesome in Sunburn Orange color. (More neutral orange, yet same shade. Sunburn Orange is closer to brown, and is awesome.)
