Microsoft's Games for Windows page has lifted the veil on the upcoming PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. For non-console owners, or those who just prefer to game on their computer (see below on why), you'll have a couple of months to bulk up your configuration if necessary. Here you are, then:

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

OS: Windows XP SP2
Processor: Dual core processor (Intel Pentium D or better)
RAM: 2GB
Hard Drive: 18GB free hard disk space
Video Card: 512MB Direct3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card compatible with Shader
Drive: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive

Odd that Microsoft reccomends its own SP2 over SP3 (something I'd likely do, but I'm not Microsoft, y'know). Naturally, these are the recommended requirements, so if you're not quite there yet, you may be able to run the game smoothly on lower settings.

Grand Theft Auto IV releases November 18 on the PC. So it's said, this version will feature expanded multiplayer capabilities, better controls, fewer bugs, free bonus episodes/missions, better graphics, and tons of mod potential.

Ah man. I meet up to all the requirements apart from my pentium 4. Ive been reluctant to change because it means ill have to change my mobo, and then the whole rig, and I don't have that cash at the moment.

Damn you pentium 4

Gratuitous and insipid tasks for some PC gamers because of exorbitant prices for that kinds of upgrade, I suppose.

Note: Instead of anticipating minor improvements in PC Version,I'd just grab a favourite console and play on it!!!

The only crazy thing about those requirements is the hard drive space. But take another look at HDD prices. They're all super cheap for the space you can get.

none: It's just saying that you can't play on an older OS than Windows XP, it will work fine on Vista too.

You and I both buddy. It's the damn P4 lagging my butt. But I don't have money to re-rig my Rig.

So I'll just "Let it be."
