Sony to expand Southeast in September
Despite ongoing video game troubles in Southeast Asia, Sony has announced plans to release the PlayStation 3 in Malaysia.
According to Malaysian news site The Star Online, Sony will be launching their hi-def gaming machine in Malaysia on September 20. The release event will be held at the 1Utama shopping center in Petaling Jaya, and Sony Malaysia will hand out vouchers to attendees who show up early.
If everything goes according to plan, Sony Malaysia will also sell all 150 special launch packages, which consist of a PS3, Namco's Soul Calibur IV, a Soul Calibur IV CD holder, and a limited edition PS3 tote bag. Why don't we ever get promotional tote bags?
There's no word on how much the PS3 will be going for in Malaysia, but the debut model will be an 80GB PS3, which is the same model Sony Korea debuted with back in July 2007.
