Release dates pushed forward a second time
Yesterday brought an announcement from Electronic Arts revealing that their upcoming survival horror Dead Space will be getting an even earlier release date.
This being the second time EA has changed the game's launch time, Dead Space for the Xbox 360 and PS3 is now scheduled to hit shelves on October 14. The PC version will be shipping out a week later on October 20.
On a less positive note, Dead Space is joining a growing list of games worthy of the international banhammer. Dead Space community manager Andrew Green has emailed Neoseeker with word that the game has been banned in China, Japan, and Germany. With Fallout 3 ailing from censorship woes and foreign governments waging war on video games, one might wonder if we are seeing a growing trend of global proportions.
Granted, a developer of such gargantuan corporate proportions won't be suffering too badly from this setback, but will EA be able to sleep at night knowing there's a serious loss of potential revenue at stake? As of now, there is still no word on whether EA will be altering the game to get around these three regional blockades.
what, the rest of the world is allowed to see aliens cutting humans in half and germany, japan and china aren't?
