PNY 2 GB drive comes with extra extra-normal activity
In advance of the upcoming Ghostbusters game, PNY has released the '80's classic flick Ghostbusters on a new model of 2GB USB flash drive. The USB drive has a DRM key locked onto it, which prevents the film from being watched unless the drive is plugged in.
This release of Ghostbusters will not be followed up immediately by other '80's classic flicks, ghosts or no ghosts. But if it proves to be a big hit, this could be possible -- the music industry has been using thumb drives as a promotional vehicle for new artists for some time now.
The 2GB drive can be used like any other thumb drive: the movie can also be moved to your HD, in order to save space.
The flash drive is currently selling at only a handful of online retailers, such as Argos (in the UK). How much will it cost you? It'll set you back about 30 pounds (about $55 USD) -- which is far more than you'd regularly pay for a Ghostbusters-less 2GB thumb drive. Currently 2GB flash drives often sell for about $20 USD -- but hey, a Ghostbusters-edition thumb drive is fairly neat.
