Wireless internet now available across Japan
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan just announced a partnership with FON Wireless Ltd. to create "PSP x FON."
FON runs a wireless network community, and people can join by agreeing to let FON share their internet. Now Sony Japan has teamed up with them to provide free Wi-Fi for PSPs, with approximately 44,000 FON spots across Japan and 2,200 FON livedoor spots primarily in central Tokyo, starting today.
Sony plans to rollout access points to provide a free internet browser through their PlayStation Portable, further filling the image of a convenient, media-savvy device.
Unfortunately, this service is currently only available to PSP owners in Japan, and there's no word on whether or not Sony intends to go global with their FON partnership.
