Remember this video?

Some are now suspecting it was some sort of secret advertising campaign, as the "perpretrators" in the clip both work for Tinsley Full Service Advertising (indicated by the username), not to mention the description provides a link to purchase it on Amazon. Covert ops advertising? Well, Nintendo has stated it has had nothing to do with it, releasing the following in a statement:

"This is absolutely, 100 percent nothing to do with Nintendo. Nintendo did not create it and were not aware of it until it was brought to our attention."

Nevertheless, both Sony and Microsoft have been busted in the past for similar activities, so who really knows.

Giovanny Gutierrez, the 'boyfriend' in the video, serves as the company's Director of Interactive Media. An excerpt from his bio:

"..he creates web, e-mail and interactive marketing solutions that perfectly integrate with television, radio and print campaigns. Gio is a master of e-commerce, having created web portals for scores of businesses. He was founder and creative director of web-design firm Ionic Studios, teaches digital web programming at Miami-Dade College, is a certified Macromedia Developer, an Apple Certified System Administrator and a Certified Internet Webmaster."

Speaking with the publication Metro, Gutierrez said, "I thought it was cute and it was actually done with good intentions. My girlfriend was furious when she found out. She called me on the phone screaming her head off and then hung up on me." She's over it now and is enjoying her bit of fame, he says.

Lauren Bernat, the girlfriend, is account executive with the company. Part of her responsibilities include "evaluating the responses to Internet advertising, [and] coordinating special projects and co-op advertising programs."
