Sony to launch monthly gaming program for PSN
Leo Chan - Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 | 10:37AM (PT)

Get to the "Qore" of PlayStation platform gaming with interactive video programming

Beginning this Thursday, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and magazine publisher Future US will launch a new monthly online program on the PlayStation Network called "Qore".  Each episode will feature interactive video content that covers PlayStation platform gaming.  SCEA is promising Qore will support high-definition display output, and apparently the user interface while viewing will be customizable as well.  Of course, Qore will also be home to "interactive advertising" for all your consumerist gamer needs.

The first episode of Qore goes live this June 5th, and features coverage of Afro Samurai, Secret Agent Clank, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Soul Calibur 4, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.  It will also include a SOCOM: Confrontation theme for the PS3 XMB, an invitation to the SOCOM: Confrontation beta, Blu-ray trailers, galleries, and "other surprises".

Users interested in Qore will be required to either purchase each epsiode individually for $2.99 USD, or pay an annual subscription fee of $24.99 USD for 13 Qore episodes per year.  As with the first issue, Qore purchasers are entitled to additional bonuses as well, like demos or additional game content.

Does this mean it'll have exclusive demos the regular PSN won't get? At least, for a time?

Don't like the idea of them charging for stuff that we should be getting anyway....I mean, demos? COME ON -_-
