Square Enix and Nintendo loving each other

(It's purely platonic)

Square Enix and Nintendo loving each other Image 1

Square Enix has posted its financial standings ending March 31, 2008, and suffice to say, the relationship with Nintendo must be amiable at worst. The Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series' took up most of the room, averaging about half a million in sales for their respective countries:

Offline game sales fell 45%, and mobile game sales were less than expected. The upside to this is company boss Wada-san has said mobile content could easily be transferred to the NDS, so it's not very unlikely we'd see Parasite Eve 3, Tobal, or Final Fantasy IV: The After (the sequel to FF IV) on the handheld, as Japan has with Front Mission 2089: Borders of Madness. Can't help feel PE3 would be more fitted to the PSP than the DS though, and even moreso again to the PS3.

Besides this stuff, we'll be getting a DS horror title this year (the Game With No Name), Sigma Harmonics, a possible Chrono Trigger reimagining for the portable, and the anime-based Soul Eater on the Wii. They'll also be publishing Infinite Undiscovery with developer tri-Ace for the Xbox 360. This is indeed going to be an interesting year with Square Enix.

Can you please source the original article (http://www.cubed3.com/news/10101/) rather than just basically copying the story next time? Also, you've copied it wrong - Sigma Harmonics is NOT the horror title. They are two separate games. The horror one is called 'Game With No Name'.

Copying the article? It's obvious you only reworded a few things. Don't we have GameGrep for stuff like this?

unoriginality
It really is true, at least cite the original author or go to the source yourself and then quote their figures.

It'd be nice to see people getting credit for what they did instead of someone just waltzing in with no remote credit to the origin.

Glotnot there you are! I see only DS is getting the love here, because Turn-Base RPGs are losing their place on consoles, now.

Dartex
It's all DS, like the one above me said.

Zeon and Dartex, your right, only the DS is getting any good Squeenix games ATM. Like "The World Ends With You".

Funny how they didn't talk about anything other than Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest in this article (Ok, Infinite Undiscovery, but that's not out yet).

Zeon is right. The turn based rpg/ tactical rpg genre is pretty much a portable dominated field
