Experiencing the Joy of Painting with a virtual Bob Ross looks to be a bust (from what we can tell), so instead, reign supreme through some Allez Cuisine!
In case you're following the North American edition of the popular Food Network television series, Iron Chef, games publisher Destineer Studios confirms it will be bringing a new video game based on Iron Chef America to the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms. "Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine" will be developed by Black Lantern Studios, a company which thus far has cut its teeth with a library of largely casual games for handhelds.
"If the early buzz surrounding the game is any indication, then fans of the show and Nintendo owners are as excited as we are to be developing Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine," said Paul Rinde, CEO of Destineer. "With their innovative control dynamics, Wii and DS are the ideal system for the inaugural Iron Chef video game and believe the ultimate ‘secret ingredient’ to these games will be family fun."
At the very least, Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine is expected to feature the voice and likeness of the show's "chairman", Mark Dacascos. Fans can hope that Supreme Cuisine will include more personalities from the show, like commentator Alton Brown... oh yeah, and the Iron Chefs themselves, like Masaharu Morimoto. Alas, since Iron Chef America features a largely different cast from the original Fuji Television production, our dream of making Chairman Kaga PROUD has yet to come to fruition.
