Coming in early April.
Charles Beauchemin answered a couple questions regarding the PC version of game mega-hit, Assassin's Creed. If you haven't played the game yet, in a nutshell, it is a 3rd person stealth game, where you play as a acrobatic dude with a knife. The game has a pretty cool plot involving time travel and the Knights and Templar. On the downside, some would argue that the game gets a bit too repetitive at times, and that the AI for the guards isn't so great (but this is being addressed in the PC version.)
Here are the highlights about the upcoming PC port:
- Game will have 4 new investigation types: Archer assassination, rooftop race challenge, merchant stand destruction challenge and escort challenge.
- There will be a DX9 and DX10 version. (Probably not much different however.)
- Minimum requirements: Pentium D 2.4 GHz / AMD X2 Athlon 3800+. Shader Model 3.0 capable video card (ATI X1300, NVIDIA 6600 or better.)
- You can play with an Xbox controller, or keyboard and mouse.
- AI for guards are better: they are more likely to be able to spot you.
- No achievements in PC version.
With the higher resolutions capable with a decent gaming rig, the PC version might end up looking very nice indeed.
Here are some screenshots from the PC version. Look for this game in early April.
As it is, I haven't really gotten that far in the game *sighs* I enjoyed random assassinations and all that, and just never got around to getting all that far >_>
Still, yeah, the game should look real nice on a high end PC >_>
Everybody knows that Assassin's Creed is extremely repetitive. As a matter of fact, no matter how much the developers improve or tweak the game on PC format, they cannot hide extreme repetitiveness of the game.
It is just a shameful act by developers for money making reasons.
They definitely need no repetitive gameplay for the later releases to succeed in the market.
