CoolIT Systems introduces 3870X2 Liquid Cooling

Company introduces system offering liquid cooling with high OC ability.

CoolIT has been chasing companies on every new release it seems, today they announce the release of their 3870X2 cooling kit to the market, from the results in their demo so far it seems the company is well on their way to earning some love from the community with a unit rigged up at 931MHz cores and 1.116GHz memory speed. Given that the 3870X2 starts around 775 that's a pretty healthy overclock. CoolIT attributes some of this success to the micro channel technology developed by AMD already, the result is that the X2 becomes a single slot usage card scoring over 23,500 in 3DMark 06.

Hopefully we'll be able to see more consumer options for this setup in the future as I'm sure many would not mind eliminating a used slot for some extra space and higher speeds, right now the company has no word on pricing for the unit but if Sapphire or Powercolor pick it up then I'm sure it'll come down to the masses a lot faster much like how PNY brought the cooling technology to their line of 8800 Ultra's. Hopefully when it does hit retail we'll see tweakers playing with liquid coolant mixtures to push the results of this setup even higher.

Still seems odd to have liquid cooling Systemss inside an electric device like a pC.

Yeah it does, fortunately distilled water or deionized water makes it possible to run safe liquid cooling without frying the system.

Should be terrifying enough for you to watch given that they're submerging a system XD

That is cool. So the only reason water fries a Computer is cause it is poler..essentially. Still somewhat of an Odd idea.

Indeed thats why I noted de-ionized water which removes that trait. I've known quite a few to go that route and only have to worry about maintaining their water systems (people seem to always forget the algae factor...)

Yeah, just don't ever go for the LN2 cooling D: I've known too many to get fingers removed because ill handling.
