PSP manages to top Sony's holiday 2007 console sales, however
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announces at this weekend's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that the total North American sales for its lineup of consoles have reached 3.9 million for the period beginning November 23rd (Black Friday) and ending December 31st 2007. Of these, 1.2 million units were PlayStation 3 consoles. The PlayStation 2 meanwhile sold a little better at 1.3 million units, while the PlayStation Portable came out on top with sales of 1.4 million.
Microsoft last week made a preemptive strike against its console competitors by boasting global Xbox 360 sales of 7.3 million for 2007, with 4.3 million of that figure being raked in during the final three months of the year.
