Metal Slug 3 hits the 360
Lydia Sung - Friday, December 28th, 2007 | 3:19PM (PST)

Zombies, jet packs, and all that other madness you remember.

For those of you who haven't already heard, Metal Slug 3 will be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday, January 2 with a price tag of 800 points ($10).

The Neo-Geo's run n' gun classic was originally held back due to size restrictions, specifically for users without hard drives and need to use a memory card; new policies have made this upcoming release possible.

The Live version of Metal Slug 3 will feature an HD option, online co-op play, and "provides gamers with various route selections within each stage enabling players to play over and over."  Leaderboards and Achievements have been added to the game as well.

I love my 360 as much as the next girl, but this might be the first time I've had a reason to even look at Live Arcade.

To be honest, I prefer Contra Series than Metal Slug Series, I mean Metal Slug is fun and great to play on Xbox 360 but lack a deepness or attractiveness, unlike Contra Series, it is also easy to beat the game. Overall, I am anticipating the HD Contra 4 on the PS3 in 2008.

Woah, easy to beat Metal Slug? Well sure if you have infinite lives but try completing it with 3. I love all the explosions and the speed and fluidity of the metal slug games.

Exactly my point, Metal slug games are horendasly hard to play. I have played them before. It takes one life to get used to the controls, then the other two can be gone in short order, unless you play nonstop all the time. lol.

I love the series, and love than they are making a online version of it. But, know what would make it better? Make NEW games. Not remakes of the old arcade ones (There have been 3 remakes of just this one that I know of.).

And THM< where do you get 'easy to beat'? Contra was easier to me...

I am curious as to how "new policies" allow this game to be played on 360s that don't have a hard drive.

Did the publishers/creators/whatever give the "ok" for saving this game on a memory card?

If this is the case, are there restrictions put in place in order to stop a person from saving the game to a memory card and playing it on a friend's 360?

I love how I bought Metal Slug 3 for the Xbox, and it won't play on my 360, but handily I can pay to have it work. YAY.
