I <3 Microsoft, but not Halo. I hope microsoft took a big chunk out of the profits. Maybe with the profits they could upgrade the system and eliminate THE RING.

Look at the numbers . . .

$300,000,000 million dollars divided by $60 bucks per copy of Halo 3 is still only 5 million units sold. And that doesn't take into account the super-duper collectors edition that goes for $120 bucks US.

Certainly, I don't know what the individual wholesale price for Halo 3 is, but assuming that it could be $25 bucks per-copy, that's still only 12 million copies sold. My guesstimate would be in the neighborhood of 7 million units sold.

Sill, I bet that there's some dollars somewhere that Microsoft is exxagerrating and or misleading.

I'll admit though, $300,000,000.00 million is a pretty nice paycheck for Microsoft (who doesn't need the money).

40 million combined hours, just on Live, in 3 days...

WOW, that's an avg of almost 15 hours per gamer that played Halo 3 online. In 3 days. That's avg 5 hours per day.

Who the heck has 5 hours a day to play a game all of a sudden?

the saddest part is that there hasn't ben a single movie to ever gross this much, nor anyting, in any other reelated industry. Halo 3 is no literally considered a house hold title.
