There is a report that a Japanese electronics magazine, Nikkei Electronics, hired a "thermal expert" to see what Microsoft was doing to fix X-Box 360's.
The expert apparently made some interesting findings:
- the motherboard temperature was 22'C above ambient temperature
- the fan on the processor is half the size on a PC processor fan
- the GPU has a tiny heatsink so it won't interfere with the DVD
- GPU temperature reached 70'C in use
- if vents got clogged with dust, GPU and motherboard temps could get VERY high
Interesting, eh?
