Does VIA have what it takes to take a bigger chunk of the low end / low power market?
VIA is reportedly scheduled to launch its new "Isaiah" processor in the first quarter of 2008; "Isaiah" will replace the current "Esther" product.
Isaiah features:
- 64 bit architecture
- 65nm process
- 1333MHz "V4" bus
- ECC support
- VT support
- 1MB L2 cache (up from 128KB)
- 2x the integer performance of "Esther"
- 4x the floating point performance of "Esther"
Adding the higher performance, smaller die, higher FSB, VT and larger cache, "Isaiah" is likely to do well at the low end, mobile PC and HTPC markets if VIA can deliver on its promises.
