There is a report that AMD will be launching its next generation desktop processor, the AMD Phenom, in November this year.

The eagerly awaited Barcelona based processor is AMD's answer to the Core 2 Duo, and AMD hopes that it will help it once again become an enthusiasts favorite.

The following processors are reported to launch in November:

• Phenom FX-80
• GP-7100
• GP-7000
• GS-6500

All but the GS-6500 will be quad core devices. Clock speeds have not been disclosed at this time.
