GTR picks up the pace with damage models and a partnership for a release on the Xbox 360.
SimBin really seems to be picking up a lot of speed these days, the FIA license, the weather physics demonstrations and now collision physics with dynamic destruction models and an announcement of THQ partnering to publish GTR 2 on the Xbox 360 as well.
First up the damage models / collision upgrades:
Spectacular loops, flying sparks, torn off body parts and tires flying around are just a little taster of what the powerful engine is capable of. Improper handling of the HP-strong engine of the car might cause lasting damage. Man and machine stretching their limits as well as the extreme challenges on the circuits make power units go up in smoke and flames every once in a while.
Since visuals are always a better indicator check out these shots for a better idea of how the game plans to tear apart the models.

The news on the THQ is actually pretty simple right now, the company plans to include all the features of the PC edition of the game and try to have it packaged for release in Spring 2007 for the Xbox 360. When more arrives on any additions for Xbox Live or added features we'll be sure to have it out.
