Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords dumps infamous copy protection system.
While a few days old it's rare to see a company step back on something like a copy protection system even moreso when it comes to something like StarForce as the protection system.
Apparently the company forums made waves in the past weekend with information being distributed on how to acquire Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords through torrent networks due to the troubles that owners were experiencing with the game trying to install it. The company has a unique point and supports that they're out for the customers not troubled protection systems and as a result have cut off use of the system in the retail version.
While I doubt this will be much of a blow to StarForce, it is interesting to see a company change up the pace on this matter so that maybe others will re-evaluate how they approach security. As we do get game previews here we run into the StarForce system every now and again, sometimes it's a breeze and sometimes it ends up with countless problems.
