Allow me to be a tad soap-boxy here, but what the heck was the deal with the whole Hot Coffee controversy? Big deal, so Rockstar hid a sex scene in the game -- it's not as if the content was part of the regular gameplay unless you deliberately went out to find the mod to unlock the content. This is really no different in concept to just going off and downloading a mod that *added* pornographic scenes.
I just don't understand what the fuss is over something so irrelevant. The age limit for purchasers of the game has been raised by one year -- big deal. It's not as if 18-year-olds are all that more mature than 17-year-olds. Age is just an arbitrary number; it doesn't magically determine if someone is mature enough to view certain content. That depends on the person themself. Besides, it's not like the 17-year-olds of the world (or even 16-year-olds, or 15-year-olds, etc.) don't have a computer with Internet access at their disposal. Oh no, the humanity!
What are your thoughts about this whole ordeal? Quite frankly, I'm sick of the bureaucrats and bored soccer moms wasting people's time and money with stuff like this. Let's focus on the real issues in this world, shall we?
I believe Maddox sums this issue up very eloquently.
