Step back Judge Judy because things just got serious.
A class action lawsuit is being brought up against MSI because of the way it dealt with the leaky capacitor issue. For those who are not aware of the issue, there was an accusation that some Taiwanese capacitor companies stole an incomplete Japanese design which led to premature failure of capacitors. This was not a MSI only problem as it affected pretty much the entire Taiwanese motherboard industry and a lot of CE companies also. I had the misfortune of getting one of these boards - funnily enough it was a MSI KT133 Pro2a.
The class action, filed by Electronic Connections Corp in a Los Angeles court on the 27th of May, and another 100 unknown "Jane and John Does", alleges that MSI made misrepresentations and concealed material information in the marketing, advertising and sales of motherboards, according to the court submission seen by the INQUIRER.
Tech support was very brisk about the whole return issue with my MSI board. I told them about the leaky caps and they did not seem surprised at all.
