SLI is back?

Alienware puts out PR claiming multiple graphics cards will be supported on upcoming system

Video Array is an accelerated graphics processing subsystem that will allow users to add multiple, off-the-shelf video cards to their Alienware computer systems and have both cards process graphic commands in parallel. Understanding the wide-ranging wants and needs of its customers, Alienwaredesigned its solution so that it is not tied to any one specific video card. This design will allow users to take full advantage of the fastest video cardon the market for a significant performance increase.
Um what? Not only are they supporting multiple graphics cards in a SLI-type configuration but it does not even have to be vendor specific? The PR goes onto state that this feature will be on an upcoming Intel based motherboard. Imagine double the performance of a X800 XT or a 6800 Ultra. Nuts..
