Yesterday, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire received a trailer highlighting some of the new mega evolutions and glorious 3D graphics available in the titles. Today, some leaked gameplay footage showing off various Mega Evolutions and random gameplay event like capturing a Pokemon has found its way online. Where the footage was taken from is unclear, nevertheless PokeBlip has found the footage and uploaded it for us all to take in.
Trainers can watch two of the mega evolutions which are brand new to the Pokémon series -- Diancie and Metagross. Mega Diancie, an oddly beautiful and sparkly stone creature, shows off its graceful attacks by taking down all of the Hoenn starters, Swampert, Blaziken, and Sceptile. Next comes Mega Metagross in perfect form, bullying Swampert with Meteor Arm, an attack definitely beneficial to the Pokémon species. If I were ever to be punched out, I definitely wouldn't want it to happen by something that increased its attack stat after each punch.
Other than that, a nifty mechanic returning from Pokémon X and Y is showcased here: experience points are rewarded after a catching a Pokémon, such as the wild Zigzagoon in the trailer. Players also get a look at the male protagonist as he wheels around Fortree City and near Lavaridge Town on his Acro Bike, then the female protagonist takes the stage, speeding away through Cycling Road on her Mach Bike. Long-time players will enjoy seeing these long-beloved areas once again, this time in 3D. And to top it all off, the evolution screen itself has evolved (pun intended) with a nifty new background.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are coming exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS on November 21, 2014.
Editor's note: This post was originally posted as off the footage was official, but that has since been corrected and the has text edited to represent that.
