From what CreativeForge has said in their Hard West Kickstarter updates / comments, it sounds like Ancient Space has basically been finished for some time.. They have kinda implied that Paradox has essentially chosen to delay the release for when they deem it to be the best time market-wise. It may be that Paradox is handling the QA, final passes, etc. for them, and they might still be doing some bug-fixing, but it sounds like CFG is primarily working on Hard West now.

Anyway, haven't played a RTS game in a long, long time (I'm more of a turn-based player usually) but this does look pretty nice and I like that there is no multi-player.. They're just focused on giving a good single-player campaign. I may check it out.

No problem. I backed Hard West early on, so it wasn't as much research as an observation.

They've also mentioned that part of the reason for launching the KS when they did is because they were still waiting for the publisher to give their RTS the green light and start receiving payments, so their studio was running dangerous low on operational funds. The other big reason is that Playway, the publisher of Hard West wanted some evidence that there would be an audience for a turn-based tactical game in a "weird west" setting. ::Sigh:: Ah, publishers.
