Thedas is in big trouble, and that fact has never been more clear than in the new Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer, "The Enemy of Thedas." Released for gamescom this week, the trailer features a lot of talk about the Elder One's return, along with some of the new party members freaking out about the whole thing. Oh, and Hawke makes a random appearance.
Creatures from beyond the Veil are wreaking havoc across Thedas, while the Inquisitor is caught in the dead center of this whole mess after being spat out from a trip through the Fade. This gave the Inquisitor some pretty strange powers, and those might just be Thedas' only hope of not being completely destroyed. Too bad you'll have plenty of mortal enemies breathing down your neck too.
A few things worth keeping an eye out for are the dragon-on-dragon fight toward the end, Morrigan's flashy entrance, and the appearance of (female) Hawke -- likely as an ally. It's all very exciting.
BioWare also released a number of new screenshots alongside the gamescom trailer. They're centered around an area known as Fallow Mire, taken from the newest developer demo. I have to say, this might just be the least inviting-looking place revealed thus far for Inquisition, especially when compared to the scenic forests showcased at E3.
Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 18 after experiencing a month's delay. Fans might want to consider pre-ordering the $170 Inquisitor's Edition beforehand, should the novelty merchandise be something that appeals to you.
