Update: Get downloading, everyone, because the Dragon's Reach: Part 2 patch has gone live. It's a pretty massive download though, so don't freak out if the client takes a while. Also bear in mind that countless other players are trying to patch at the same time. Otherwise, happy adventuring, and be sure to check out the new Chaos weapon skins and other Black Lion releases.
Original: Today's the day we hit the Guild Wars 2 mid-season finale, meaning once The Dragon's Reach: Part 2 goes live, expect the Living Story to go all sorts of crazy. Last we checked in, Tyria's leaders were scheduled to gather in the Grove for an audience with the Pale Tree, where they will no doubt argue over just how dangerous Mordremoth, the newly awakened Elder Dragon, really is.
Well, that's not entirely accurate, because human and asura representation are still up in the air. Apparently, Queen Jennah is accused of beign a traitor, while Councilor Phlunt is still being a bit of a bookah/jerk about the whole matter with Taimi's device. Sounds like players will have their work cut out for them now.
Oh, and Rytlock is still somewhere in the Mists, having a pretty good time (I assume).
Some time ago, the villain Scarlet launched a devastating assault on Divinity’s Reach. Now, an anonymous source has accused Queen Jennah of being complicit in the attack. Unless her name is cleared, the Queen cannot leave her city to attend the upcoming summit. Work together with Kasmeer and Countess Anise to track these rumors to their source and lay this piece of political intrigue to rest.
The asura prodigy Taimi has made impressive progress on her waypoint recalibration device, but her troubles are far from over. Councilor Phlunt is trying to interfere with Taimi’s research – and using his attendance at the summit as a bargaining chip. She may be brilliant for her age, but will Taimi be able to both finish her project and convince the asura councilor to attend the summit?

Something for everyone, right? Well, the patch isn't actually out yet at time of writing, but consider us plenty excited for this semi-finale. That is, if we actually get to see Mordy flew in and eat the Pale Tree or something. Enjoy the new screenshots below as we wait.
