Game has been added to Steam for £34.99 pre-order. Advertising access to the pre-purchase beta, though the beta isn't released until two weeks before the release date hinted at being sometime in November.

Yeah I'll be getting it through Steam, the 10% discount is nice but I'm sure I remember Sega being a bit lax with sending out the codes for the beta last year. At least with Steam it's already in your library and there's no need to worry about anything so for the sake of that I'll forego the discount.

Not prepared to risk the chances of getting the beta code or anything for 10% tbh, if it was more than the £4 or something I would consider it. I'd rather just use what I prefer, either Game or Steam and know I'll have it after hearing about the problems last year. Nice idea though.

When you order from Steam, does it download to your laptop so you can play offline as well? I don't like being online all the time, it slows my laptop down.

You don't have to be online on steam or even connected to the internet whatsoever to play the game bud. Obviously you need to be for downloading, but after that you have the whole game just through steam. To load it you go into steam >steamapps>common>fm2014 and then the folders from there are basically just the same as if you had the disc.

Hope that helps.

You do need to be online to load up steam though unless you have already set it to offline mode, which you can only do by being connected to the internet. So basically when you have connection, download it and install it to steam and then set your steam account to offline and then you can load it up in offline mode at any time. The only difference is you don't get the automatic updates or achievements.
