With Football Manager 2014 announced around this time last year it, the next iteration in the long running series from Sports Interactive was likely to be revealed in the same timeframe. Today is that day, as Sega has announced that Football Manager 15 will be releasing in November of this year. no exact date for the release was provided however.
Unlike last years announcement for Football Manager 2014, which brought with it a lot of fresh details and information about the game, there has been very little revealed about Football Manager 2015. Outside of the release window and a new loyalty discount scheme from developers Sports Interactive, there's little to discuss. There have been no new features, or any features at all in fact, announced as of yet. Though there is the promise that feature announcements will be dealt with in October, which is cutting it a little bit close to release date in November for my liking.
The rather sparse announcement would seem to be in an effort to push Football Manager 2015's loyalty scheme. Named "inSIder," it provides those who sign up with a 10% discount on FM15 along with access to the beta. In previous years the beta has included a bonus for pre-ordering from a number of participating retailers, and the same will apply this year according to Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson. The 10% discount will only be available to those who sign up through inSIder and order direct from the online Sega Store however. Essentially the same discount at different retailers.
Hopefully more will be revealed about Football Manager 2015 over the coming months and there won’t be a two month wait into October for a full feature reveal. Given the rather bare bones announcement today however I won’t be holding my breath on that one.
