Spry Fox's amazing little puzzle title Road Not Taken has arrived. Now each and every person will be faced with a decision: PC or PlayStation 4? Which path to take and which to regret not taking. Ah, what a meaningful decision to have before even playing the game. Truly, Spry Fox could care less so long as you buy the damn game so they can keep making cool stuff just like Road Not Taken. Buy it already.
Of course, one wouldn't have to buy Road Not Taken should they already be a member of Sony's PlayStation Plus service, which most PlayStation 4 owners probably are. Yes, Road Not Taken is this month's free PlayStation 4 game, though anyone without a subscription can pick up the game in the PlayStation store too. In fact, I have it on good account that Sony has just in the past hour updated their store so Plus subscribers can start their download. Bless their hearts.
For those unfamiliar, Road Not Taken is an adorable puzzle game that's actually filled with mature and often violent content, rather like an old fable. The grid-based game has our magical protagonist moving square to square intuitively solving puzzles based on objects and animals in the environment. Road Not Taken isn't just a linear story, however, as it's built on Rogue-like principles. No one direction will be the same and the player will find themselves mulling over what was on that road not taken.
Just based off of their pre-release media, it's difficult not to find Road Not Taken quite charming and endearing. The struggles of our little mage push us to want to help him rescue him, and drive him onto bigger and better things. That is, if it's a him at all. Secrets lay in wait in Road Not Taken, now available on PC and PlayStation 4.
