What even is Hyrule Warriors? An amalgamation of heroes, villains and settings from decades of The Legend of Zelda games would be the simple explanation. I think it may be something different however. I think we're seeing a studio's slow crumbling fall into fanboy insanity. Zelda wielding the Wind Waker fighting against the horrors of Twilight Princess isn't something a normal gamer might think about, but on Hyrule Warriors it is.
Today we get to join in on the insanity and take the red pill, putting us each into a spiral towards the black hole of truly understanding Hyrule Warriors. Today Nintendo does a special edition Nintendo Direct broadcast purely for the upcoming Wii U exclusive. Running at 26 minutes long, we should hear tons of exciting new details for the LSD trip, hopefully include new characters, new weapons, new stages, and a bit of clarification revolving the game's online multiplayer (or lack thereof).
Join me, Mr. Rory Young, as I venture into the abyss and live blog the adventure along the way. Once you experience Hyrule Warriors, you're never the same. Tomrrow, we all may very well be different, perhaps better, human beings. Or, some of us may wake up believing we're dodongos. Time will tell, but we can't stop now.
Hyrule Warriors will launch on Wii U starting September 26 in North America, September 19 in Europe, and September 20 in Australia.
