Capcom fans now have a mega reason to rejoice! Mega Man will soon be making some appearances on the Nintendo Wii U as a part of Mega Man month -- or in layman's terms, August. Every Thursday in August Nintendo will be adding a Mega Man classic to the Nintendo Wii U eShop. Fortunately they have been kind enough to bless us with one little preview to start the month, the original Mega Man Battle Network is available now for console owners.
Mega Man's appeal comes in his adorable little blue robot body that just so happens to provide him with more power than any single being should ever have, lest begins the age of the robot takeover. Fans will be able to pick up the following four titles at some point in August, one game each Thursday. The release order and has not yet been given, though this may be it:
- Mega Man 5 (NES)
- Mega Man 6 (NES)
- Mega Man X3 (SNES)
- Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge (GBA)
Originally released on the GameBoy Advance, Mega Man Battle Network allows players to stop cyber war through a simple battle system, not unlike those found in grid-based strategy games, by utilizing powers found in cards and equipment picked up when bosses are defeated. Players can pick this title up right now on the Nintendo eShop for $8. It's proof positive that Mega Man spin-offs can find success no matter what type of game they are, just so long as Capcom makes them in the first place.
If I had one wish, we would get all of the classic Mega Man titles on the console, but you win some and lose some. In this case Mega Man fans are definitely the winners here. At the moment we do not have a release order for the aforementioned titles, but we can expect to see them rolled into the Nintendo Wii U eShop on every Thursday in August.
