Another month, another astonishingly impressive line-up of great games coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita as part of the PlayStation Plus program. Check this out: two PlayStation 4 games, four PlayStation 3 games, and four PS Vita games, but only six games total. How does it work? Most of the games on today's list are cross-buy, which means more games for everyone. Remember, rather than a tiered release, all games will become available August 5.
Wait a second, I haven't even mentioned what games will be included in the August drop! No use getting excited just yet. Really though, everyone should be excited. Now is the time to be excited, because two games will be debuting as part of PlayStation Plus this month. They're smaller titles, but they're still two titles that I have been looking forward to for some time now. Check it all out.
- Road Not Taken
- Fez (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)
- Crysis 3
- Proteus (PS3, PS Vita)
- Dragon's Crown (PS Vita, PS3)
Anyone who hasn't been following the development of the puzzle game Road Not Taken is really missing out. Not only does it have a smart and innovative take on grid-based puzzles, but also a unique take on storytelling. That's not even mentioning how beautiful the game is. Metrico is similarly brilliant, creating a platforming title out of graphs and charts that change as a result of the player's actions. It's art in motion and I'm insanely pleased that so many people will get to play it.
PlayStation platform owners mark your schedules, because each of these games will be available starting on August 5. That means that July's PlayStation Plus titles, including Towerfall, Strider, Dead Space 3, Vessel, Muramasa and Doki-Doki Universe, will be disappearing from the storefront at that point. Don't miss out on those games!
As for Europe, there's only one major difference in the line-up for August. Instead of Dragon's Crown, which I believe Europe has already received, LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 will be delivered. Cheers!
