Today, a new League of Legends champion is unveiled to the world, and his name is Gnar. Think a name like that can't belong to a handsome face? Well, then you'd be correct. Gnar looks to be some sort of primative beast that was, at one point, trapped in an ice prison. Now, he's broken free, and no one's quite sure if that's good or bad.
Riot also brought back the flash mural for Gnar's tentative reveal, but most of his story remains up in the air. We can assume, at least, that Gnar wasn't always a raving beast, and might have even had a family at one point.
His silhouette, which can be seen in the teaser video below, shows a lyncanthrope(ish) monster with tusks. This, along with the whole "trapped in ice" thing, has led many Summoners to speculate that Gnar might be related to Braum's story, in which the burly friend to poros discovered his shield in a vault housing a shard of true ice. When Braum made the entire thing come down, he could have actually freed Gnar by accident. Mind you, that's all still fan speculation at this point, but the theory is fairly sound.
Another point worth mentioning is that Gnar may be the one to utilize that new "Tantrum" resource, which was spotted in a recent PBE update. Rioters also previously stated that the next champion (after Braum) would be a top laner.
