The best heroes have the best villains, that's a fact. Batman wouldn't be Batman without the Joker, Superman without Lex Luthor, and The Avengers each have their own nightmares waiting in a dark shadow close by. It's only fitting then that with Disney's upcoming follow-up release Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, that the villains get some of the spotlight too. During the San Diego Comic Convention three villains in particular stole the show, and will soon steal the platform as playable figures.
Introducing Loki, Thor's trickster brother who would quite literally kill family or friend to achieve power. Ronan, who movie fans will come face to face with as soon as Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters later this week. Thirdly, there's of course Spider-man's perhaps most notable villain, the Green Goblin. Three great villians, perhaps some more significant than others, but each standout in their own right.
As per standard Disney Infinity releases, each villain will come alone with their very own play set and the ability to join and build on the Toy Box. I'd love to see some interplay between each of the villains and their respective hero counterpoint. Exactly how each villain will be boxed and what sort of content will be included with them will have to wait until later this year, unfortunately.
How long before it's uncovered that Disney Infinity is actually just Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet build and destroying reality as he sees fit? Mmm, yes, the addition of villains is quite excellent.
Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, also known as Disney Infinity 2.0, will be available later this year on all major platforms.
