Nintendo of America announced today at San Diego Comic Con the NES Remix Pack, a new bundle headed to Wii U. As the title suggests, this will be a physical re-release of both NES Remix and NES Remix 2, games made with the sole purpose of changing up the Nintendo classics many gamers think they already know so well.
The Remix games are composed entirely of mini-games, segments of the classic titles that long-time Nintendo fans might be familiar with. Though challenges are taken directly from classics, such as Super Mario Bros. or Donkey Kong, they are changed in small or large ways to create a new experience. For example, playing through Super Mario Bros. World 1-2 as 8-bit Link from The Legend of Zelda, or avoiding clones to reach the end of a Super Mario Bros. 3 level.
From NES Remix Pack, buyers can expect all of the challenges in both NES Remix and NES Remix 2, as well as Super Luigi Bros., a backwards version of the original Super Mario Bros. where players go from right to left through the Mushroom Kingdom while playing as the younger, greener plumbing brother, Luigi.
While an exact release date has not yet been announced, worry not, NES Remix Pack will be available in physical disc format starting this holiday season exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U.
