2D pixel art skating title OlliOlli knocked gamers' teeth out when it was initially released on PS Vita in January early this year. The mix of hyper-challenging skating action and the allure of pulling off the sweetest tricks known to man should be enough to draw in any gamer. Particularly the ones aching for that ol' Tony Hawk feeling. Good news then for those without a PS Vita, because OlliOlli will be coming to PC starting July 22.
OlliOlli features an extremely simple premise. Skate down a hill pulling off tricks, grinds and any nonsense you so please at hyper speeds without falling on your face. Each level is thematically unique and stuffed to the brim with interesting environmental hazards and obstacles. In one of the screenshots, for example, the player is grinding a dinosaur's back, or lining up to grind a gundam's light sword.
What really takes the cake in OlliOlli however is that there's just so much freakin' content. Sure it's a 2D skating game that's simple in idea, but the complexity once you're really moving is intense. Over 120 different tricks, 250 challenges to overcome, four different game modes and some of it all new for the PC release of the game. Plus, RAD Mode which only unlocks when all other challenges are completed.
Pick up OlliOlli starting July 22 for PC, Mac and Linux for just $12.99, or check it out now on the PS Vita. Plans, I believe, are still in store for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, which were once scheduled for July as well, but no new details are as yet available. Check out the trailer for an example of an easy level being played through.
