If you have ever wanted to fight alongside massive titans with teammates, now is your chance. Today, new studio Motiga announced Gigantic, an online, free-to-play title which presents players with one goal - make the other team tremble beneath the feet of the assisting colossus. To formally announce the action title, Motiga has released a short cinematic trailer showcasing a small number of heroes available to players.
The announcement trailer begins with a peaceful image of two small birds soaking together in the water. The forest is lush, and all seems well until we are introduced to our first hero, the hunting forest-lord Voden, who with his trusty bow in hand, seems to be making his way to his team. Voden fires off an arrow that rips through the screen, revealing Tripp, a notorious assassin working for the empire, and Uncle Sven, a chemical genius known for his chaotic and crazy nature. Sven's chemical smoke fades to become Lord Knossos, the offensive powerhouse who exists only to restore his tribe to its former glory. Previously hidden behind in the darkness, Tyto the Swift appears almost out of thin air to assist his teammates in their upcoming battle. Oh, and he brought his cat with him.
The scene quickly shifts from the night sky to ruins, where the team of heroes meets up with the opposing side - a dark knight, two spell-casters, and a hunter. As the screen scrolls to show us more fighters, we are introduced to the first Guardian, the colossal monster that players must both protect and assist offensively. The Dragon Guardian quickly scales a nearby pillar, and the opposing team of heroes also call in their ally - a Chimera Guardian that rushes into battle following Tyto's command.
Lastly, we are given a quick flash of the third-person gameplay that Gigantic will offer, as a hero attacks the opposing team's Dragon Guardian with gunfire.
Gigantic takes on a more-than-just-a-MOBA feel. Heroes can be upgraded to further improve their stats and tailor gameplay differently to every player. Ultimately, however, the goal of each team is to take out the massive Guardian that looms above. A Guardian that quite clearly isn't happy to wait for the action to reach them. Luckily, each team has their own colossal Guardian to assist in the fray.
Motiga's newest title, free-to-play Gigantic, will only be available on the PC, allowing players to crush their enemies with some precise mouse and WASD action.
