In an effort to showcase playable characters in Koei Tecmo's upcoming title, Hyrule Warriors, the company has released yet another character trailer. Today's trailer highlights the fighting talents of Fi, the sword spirit of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Unlike the Wii title, however, in Hyrule Warriors Fi is introduced to us as a fierce fighter with a wide variety of different attacks.
The trailer begins with Fi taking on her humanoid form by leaping out of the Goddess Sword, Link's first weapon in Skyward Sword. Then, deep within the woods of Hyrule, she is seen destroying Moblins and taking Rupees. Her skill set includes using the legendary Skyward Strike to attack from a distance, the harp that allows her to attack everyone within a certain radius, and many graceful dance steps that allow her to kick her enemies into oblivion. On top of all of these things, however, Fi is also allowed to become the Goddess Sword for a short period of time, allowing her to "close the seal."
Though Fi was unable to show emotions as the spirit of the Goddess Sword, her attacks show players her many different ways of expression. Can she still analyze the world around her to see the probability of certain death for herself and others? Koei Tecmo's Hyrule Warriors will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U starting September 26, 2014.
