ArcheAge seems interesting enough. I'll probably wait until release though.

Considering no players have had the opportunity to experience the perspective of a free-to-play player, and considering Trion Worlds has already released information that makes it clear how much of an advantage Patron players have over free-to-play players, I'm going to assume you're just a fan who doesn't understand the significance yet.

• Bonus online Labor Point regeneration (10 per 5 minutes)
• Offline Labor Point regeneration (5 per 5 minutes)
• Increased maximum Labor Points cap (5000 maximum)
• 10% bonus to all Experience gained through combat or labor usage
• 10% discount on Marketplace purchases (available after launch)
• 5 Loyalty Tokens per day for use in the Loyalty Store (awarded on first login of the day)
• Ability to claim land by placing farms and houses
• Ability to pay in-game taxes on owned property
• Ability to post auctions on the Auction House by default

I wish they just did the Guild Wars 2 approach, buy the base game and possibly buy cosmetics and whatnot to look cooler yet have no true advantage over others, this is B.S. if F2Ps aren't going to be able to own farms and whatnot. This is clearly a way to push "Patron Status" into your face. So far, I've been a huge fan of what archeage has been doing, yet the fact that I won't be able to experience that unless I pay on a subscription? It's like having a trial account, hopefully the sub base doesn't prosper and they change it.

I guess it also depends on how much the sub fee is that really matters. 15 dollars a month adds up for the people depending on welfare and shit, like me, if they don't overdo it they'll get more money if it's slightly cheaper since more people would be able to buy it, etc.

I for one am greatful they aren't using GW2's example because that game uses the RMTAH system. Nothing can be farmed everything is in the TP and new players wishing to buy the gear they need must spend real money to get even the basics, and forget it if they change something and force you to respect. If you like that sort of thing I guess it's fine definitely not an improvement in gaming that's for sure! AA is about to launch in beta, we'll see the changes 1.7 brings to the table, and they have plenty of other betas planned after this one.

I just don't understand why people are acting as though this is any different from the shit literally every MMO pulls. They spend the money developing the game, we spend the money playing it. If they feel it would be lucrative to make more available to those who pay, which it is, then it's their business and our fault for "falling for it" as it were. They're a business, not a charity and marketing is marketing. It's obviously a tried and true tactic so they'd be silly not to use it.
