The Banner Saga might be one of the more strategy games we've had in a long time, for many reasons, and soon it will be going mobile. On top of that, the Vikings tactical fantasy RPG is now available in more than just English.
Stoic promise their Kickstarter backers multiple languages back in 2012, and now, they've finally gotten around to it, releasing Banner Saga in French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish languages for PC and Mac versions.
John Watson, Technical Director at Stoic, commented on the addition, as well as the upcoming expansion to mobile platforms. He says:
“Releasing The Banner Saga in multiple languages is a promise we made to our backers when we launched our Kickstarter in 2012. “We are happy to be able to keep this promise by finally releasing the game in multiple languages. In addition to PC and Mac the game will also be available in multiple languages on mobile devices when we launch the game later this summer and look forward to sharing this experience with a whole new audience!”
Yes, given the way Banner Saga is setup, the game would actually work really well with a touchscreen. Right now, however, Stoic doesn't have anything more specific than "this summer" for the mobile release. Whenever that happens, I'll be getting it.
