What, no mention of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, or does it not qualify for even a mention for some reason?

Got Race the Sun on PC. It's fine (leaderboards being super unreliable aside), but I can't see it competing with big budget racer titles.

Smash is going to win the best fighter thing easily, but I still hope that Persona 4 Arena: Suplex beats it somehow. Even if it does have Persona 4's characters in it.

Regarding Yay4sean and Shadow of Death's comments, I just want to note that a large factor in our decision process, perhaps the largest part, revolves around how much and what of each game we were shown at E3.

Specifically, while I personally believe No Man's Sky looks outstanding based off of that trailer, I personally did not get to play it or see anything beyond that trailer at the show. I can't say how representative of the final product that trailer is. I can't say if it's actually fun to play. I'm sure it will be, but logically it won't win an argument over other games that I did get to try and know are outstanding.

I absolutely encourage everyone to check out our cast of the decision-making process. It should be educational in this regard: http://www.neoseeker.com/news/25448-neoseekers-e3-2014-award-nominations-trimming-down-13-categories-to-just-a-few-games/

Why isn't Monster Hunter in every category?

Anyway, I'm glad the selection only includes things that actually had gameplay present.
Personally I'm incredibly iffy on No Man's Sky, the suspension of disbelief being shattered by "we're a small indie group" immediately followed by "we made an infinite game" but also because RNG is a terrible, terrible GM.

Best shooter doesn't include Splatoon? What. And Fable is barely a passable rpg let alone one deserving of "best" in any sense. C'mon guys. Definitely replace that with Monster Hunter, which is the best action rpg. Same for best multiplayer because Fable is also barely passable as a game. First one was good, second one was okay, it's all been crap rolling downhill since.

Both Lydia and I have seen quite a bit of The Evil Within now, even prior to E3. Both of us think it's something special as far as horror games go. I even legitimately yelped out of fright at the last press event I attended. It has some issues, but it still looks awesome.

FoneBoneFan15 Nintendo had a decent showing this year. Unfortunately, the games that stood out to us -- and the ones we were able to play -- were voted out in favor of the current nominations. For a number of reasons, actually.
