Devil's Third resurfaces this E3 under the patronage of none other than Nintendo, as the action-shooter-slasher is now confirmed to be a Wii U exclusive. The new platform may come as a surprise to those who remembered Devil's Third announcement, as a Wii U release wasn't even on the cards for the first title developed by Tomonobu Itagaki of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden (2004) fame since a bad breakup with Tecmo back in 2008.
To be sure, Devil's Third has seen quite a bit of action outside of what you'll see in the new trailer! The title was not only forced to switch game engines partway through development (as a result of engine's developer going out of business), but publishers as well following THQ's own closure last year. Fortunately, Valhalla was able to regain the IP, and Nintendo will now help release the title... some time in the future.
Devil's Third remains the bombastic third-person action adventure it's ever been, mixing swordplay and melee combat with explosive gunslinging. The game is also set to feature an online mode that "blends clan-based action, resource management and strategy."
