Dead Island 2 is on the way, as the Kuru virus makes its way to the mainland. Set in sunny California (pick a beach), this zombie-slaying action game is already setting itself apart from its predecessors, Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, by taking on a more humorous tone in the announcement trailer.
The cinematic is really just a teaser, but a couple of guys who could very well be the protagonists do make an appearance at the end. The bros -- whether literally brothers or just "bros" -- arrive in a modded vehicle, wailing with glee as they take out zombies on the street. Definitely a far cry from the dramatic trailers we used to see for Dead Island; it's closer to Dead Rising now, if anything.
So stay a while and check out the announcement cinematic. See how this picturesque beachside city is reduced to a gruesome yet somewhat hilarious zombie-fest. And for anyone who plans to get this game on PlayStation 4, your version will come with an exclusive character. If that isn't an issue, Dead Island 2 will also be available on Xbox One and PC, come Spring 2015.
