CoroCoro magazine early leaks reveal a ton of exciting new Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Saphire revelations. First and foremost, we're getting our first great look at several of the Mega Evolutions that will be a part of the game, including the Mega versions of each of the starters. Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken and Mega Swampert are each looking very ready for launch. There's also news that there's more to those strange versions of Kyogre and Groudon than meet the eye.
The glowing Kyogre and Groudon that have been shown on the covers of Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire are indeed different than the standard versions of the Pokemon. Keep in mind that these are loose translations and are likely to change with the English versions of the game, but they're referenced as Ancient Devolutions and not Mega Evolutions. Their names are, as a result, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon.
Back to our starters, however. As with previous Mega Evolutions our newly evolved starters will either gain new types or abilities, which is what makes the temporary Mega Evolutions fun in the first place. Sceptile will change from pure Grass to Grass/Dragon-type, Mega Blaziken was already included in Pokemon X & Y and remains a Fire/Fighting-type, and finally Swampert also retains his typing, but gains the ability Swift Swim.
Those aren't the only Mega reveals in CoroCoro, however. Mega Diancie has now also been confirmed, likely due to its role in the recent Pokemon movie "Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction". Diancie will likely retain its Rock/Fairy-typing, but is listed to have gained a new ability. It seems Game Freak isn't ready to show that ability just yet, however, as it's shown as "???".
What else is hidden in the pages of CoroCoro? Team Aqua and Team Magma will both be returning, along with confirmation that each team's leader and admins are also back. That's Maxie, Tabitha and Courtney, along with Archie, Matt and Shelley. Each of them will be redesigned for the games. Our final confirmation is the return of Steven Stone, who has somehow acquired a Mega Charizard X. The jerk.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Saphire are planned for release exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in November later this year.
