Someone's a tad obsessed with romancing a Qunari I see I'm really hoping this game turns out great but I just have some concerns. Mainly over the whole, yeah you're not doing blood magic anymore because we told you it was real bad to do that in previous games but still let you do it. So now, no cool blood magic for you

Be consistent or don't, I just want some blood magic

I disagree that Bull's line's are better than Sera's but to each his own.
We've known about Bull a lot longer than we have about Sera.
I don't find the new Qunari appearance attractive so no romancing him for me.
I'll probably use him, I presume he is a warrior and can be used as a tank but not particularly excited about him.But I see Bioware wanted a Qunari party member for fanservice reasons/fans who wanted to romance one and that's ok I guess.

ANGRYWOLF They're both kind of... eh, too "I'm edgy look at me," just going by their lines. None of the companions look all that interesting to me right now, judging by appearances, except maybe the bearded guy in armor and the bald elf (I get the feeling he might be an apostate). The number of possible companions concerns me too.

IcarusAbides I'd rather games not be focused on romancing companions. I was just making a note of the fanservice.

They just introduced another party member, Blackwall.

Maybe it would be a good idea to introduce multiple ones in one article, Lydia lol

Well Bioware is trying to excite the fans after their most recent issues/problems, DA2 and the ME3 endings, so I am not surprised they are spicing things up.

The bearded guy is supposedly a grey warden.I guess we'll find out his name and see a saying from him in the next two days.
The bald elf is an apostate mage called Solas, he supposedly is a fade expert. He might be a dreamer, there was a dreamer elf in DA2.
Since wardens were in Legacy and may have been corrupted, no surprise there is one in the party. A fade expert is no surprise either.
I hope they are useful.Maybe there will be sidequests devoted to them like there were in other Bioware games.

For some people romances are a big deal. Some fans hate them and wanted them excluded from Dragon Age Inquisition even though romances aren't mandatory. You can do them or not do them. There was a big controversy on the Bioware Social Network a year or so back, one person started a thread saying he didn't want Dragon Age Inquisition to be a dating simulation and that caused a big set to. That thread was eventually locked.
Lead writer David Gaider in subsequent threads where the fans argued threatened to ban the anti-romance fans who were arguing from the Bioware Social Network and that seemed to settle things down.
David Gaider has had ongoing disputes with conservative fans who didn't want certain romances in the games.
So it has gone on and on.
I'm not a fan of the male romances being in the games,I admit that as I am straight, but it is what it is. And since they aren't mandatory I don't do them.If others do that's their business.

I do like having my protagonist be in a romance, that makes him/her seem real to me and enhances the immersion, but I play a lot of rpgs that don't have romances and I enjoy them just as much.

Whether romances continue in future DA games we don't know. There was a rumor from a gaming mag that Bioware might cut back on romances in future games, but we'll have to see if that happens.

odd that the "g" word is considered explicit language and it can't be posted oh well.

There's nothing with g** romances. I am straight so I know I wouldn't touch one, unless I was playing a female character. What I think Bioware should do is not have every single character be Bisexual like in DA2 was, but uses a similar idea from Mass effect 3. A couple of Lesbian, g**, bisexual and of course straight characters. If those conservative fans don't want this in the game then they can buy a different product for all I care.

Lol at it being classed as explicit language. Just wow Neoseeker.

All these quotes are fan-fic tier cringe material
Is Bioware even trying at all anymore?

The DA2 romance model won't be repeated. There may be one bisexual character but not everyone will be bi.I think it's likely Cassandra will be bi as so many of the romance fans seem excited by her.
But we'll see.
Bioware's trying to get as many fans as possible it would seem to buy the game so catering to the romance fans shouldn't be a surprise.

The cringe worthy material is Bioware trying to set the character's personality.I don't feel excited by those statements they're publicizing, but some fans will be.

Much better than Sera's overt "edgy warrior female" thing!

I'm quite excited by the sheer number of different companions this time around. Hopefully their characters and gameplay are good enough to make us want to play again and again with different combinations.

I don't mind romances in RPGs. Just don't make it a goddamn dating sim (as ANGRYWOLF mentioned above). Ugh, that -- among other things -- killed DA2 so hard for me. Being nice to anyone leading to awkward cutscene in which I had to reject them? Ridiculous.

Trying to hamfist romance into the game also leads to some inconsistent characters IMO, because the writers have to make them the sort of people players would want to hook up with. That, above all else, may be why the last Dragon Age, and even Mass Effect to a lesser extent, felt like dating sims.

And yeah, I remember reading something about BioWare's terrible community manage on their Social Network. Apparently the devs themselves admitted the BSN was a mistake.

Mouldy Cheese I hope BioWare knows what they're doing with that huge cast.

Darknet I give up.
