Why are these games always exclusive to one console? What a waste.

MH4U is the eagerly anticipated updated version of 3DS title Monster Hunter 4 which released exclusively in Japan back in September 2013. The series, which dates back to the original Monster Hunter on Playstation 2, has a steep learning curve and tasks the player with capturing or killing a wide range of monsters.
Steep learning curve? thats an understatement, the curve kicks you in the balls with Monster Hunter Tri once you reach HR 31, Deviljho can show up at any moment, altho it can be good, after all you can abuse Qurupeco and his scream to get in more a second monster to kill it's worse than the final boss.

Dunnthfl no, the current version of MH4 IS 3DS exclusive MH4U launches on 2015.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is also a 3DS exclusive, so unlike Tri it won't be coming out on Wii U

MH3U was released on Wii U and Tri on Wii. I'm not sure why they've taken the decision to only release MH4U on 3DS and not any of the home consoles. It's a shame for the Wii U certainly.

Yes but this is a news article, also Swampert X beat you to it as well

I do wish they would release this for the Wii U as well, but I guess the home consoles aren't popular in Japan to warrant it.

MH3 was pretty awesome on the 3DS, though sadly the camera movements really put me off the game. I wonder if they'll use a different camera system this time.

I'm pretty sure they said MH4's camera will just be an improved version of MH3U's, and MH3U's was pretty much an experiment (i.e. prototype).

For me the only issue was underwater fights, which won't be in this game, athough ranged weapons are a bit trickier with the virtual d-pad too.

As for being absent on the Wii U, handhelds being top dog in Japan and this being a hugely popular series over there makes being 3DS exclusive a no-brainer. We could see an MH4U HD, but I don't think its too likely.

Nearly identical, the only change being no more fixed vertical angles. On the other hand, swimming has been replaced with faster climbing and new mid-air attacks.

4's probably the best in the series, and felt like a more natural evolution of the second gen titles while including all of the improvements of the third.

Even if it were primarily on home consoles that wouldn't happen, the main audience is japanese and next gen isn't going to become the norm over there for another two years at best. Not that I'm complaining, I'm in no rush to get any next gen system and can't understand why anyone would be.

With full online play in this version, I wouldn't count on it.

If you don't have a next-gen like PS4 now, you aren't living your life in full, life is too short to be waiting for something.
