Microsoft had a surprise announcement for everyone this morning. Forza Horizon 2 will be coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 later this year. Once again the racing title is in development at PlayGround Games, working in close collaboration with Turn 10 Studios. Perk of working with the guys behind Forza Motorsport 5, Forza Horizon 2 will include an updated version of the popular Drivatar feature of the game. Oh, also new cars. Microsoft says the game is headlined by the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan.
The setting for the racing sequel will be Southern Europe, which certainly sounds promising. Unfortunately there were no specific examples of what specific sort of setting Forza Horizon will build its open world game on. Remember that Forza Horizon is much different from Forza Motorsport in this regard, providing a much more open and natural driving experience compared to the racing-focused Motorsport main series.
Expect more information on Forza Horizon 2 in the days and weeks to come. In fact, it sounds like the preview embargo will absolutely be ending tomorrow, but the game will also be shown at E3 behind closed doors. The racing game is coming to both Xbox One and Xbox 360 in the fall of 2014.
