Space Hulk: Deathwing shooter marks the next video game installment to grace Games Workshop's long-running Warhammer 40,000 franchise. Honestly, when's the last time we even saw a 40K first-person shooter? That's right, back in 2003 when Warhammer 40K: Fire Warrior came along. Thankfully, Deathwing should prove to be a much better experience.
A small collection of screenshots for Space Hulk: Deathwing was released today, and you can see them here, depicting a squad of Deathwing from the Dark Angels Space Marines Chapter. They're aboard (it that's even the right word) a drifting Space Hulk, tracking down and punching out Genestealers left and right. The Tyranids aren't known for going down easy, and that's fine, because the Imperium of Man only practices overkill.
With Relic Entertainment now under SEGA's wing, Games Workshop instead turned to developer Streum On Studio, the same folks behind E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, which remains decently popular on Steam. At this point, however, we don't really know a lot about Space Hulk: Deathwing, but chances are it'll be released for PC next year. No word yet on whether the game will be released to consoles.
