Looks like Patch 4.8 is on its way to League of Legends, bringing with it a handful of changes to a few champs. The focus here is Soraka, who has been earning her keep as a midlaner for some time now. That, and we've got new skins for Nami and Lissandra on the way.
In an effort to cull Soraka's overbearing effectiveness as a midlane champion, Riot is lowering the damage on Starcall, her Q, and slapping a 50 mana cost on Infuse at all levels. Here is what they had to say on the matter:
Soraka's solo lane patterns are pretty obnoxious, as she can simply shove out opponents with Starcall while inhibiting their ability to fight back with her free Infuses. Soraka should be brought to a solo lane as someone who can consistently support her team, rather than dealing high ramping magic damage via Starcall.
Q - StarcallDamage: 60/95/130/165/200 ⇒ 40/65/90/115/140Utility: If Starcall hits an enemy, Astral Blessing's cooldown is reduced by 5/6.25/7.5/8.75/10% ⇒ 5/8/11/14/17%
E - InfuseNew Cost: Costs 50 mana at all levels when cast on an enemy
So that's going to happen soon. While Soraka will be the focus of the patch, a few other champions will be seeing changes and fixes. Malzahar, Blitzcrank and Cho'Gath will all be receiving very slight buffs in the form of reduced mana cost to certain skills. In Cho's case, Feast's range will also be increased. Kha'Zix, Udyr and Pantheon get bug fixes with the patch. The whole thing can be found on the official site, along with a few other notes for Twisted Treeline, Sejuani and Nami.
Speaking of Nami, her River Spirit skin will be released with 4.8, alongside Blade Queen Lissandra. Hooray!
