While many are waiting for Capybara Games' Below release, they snuck in another game when folk weren't watching. Super Time Force, the 2D side-scrolling shooter, is available now on Xbox One and Xbox 360. It's almost as if Capybara manipulated time so they could work on two awesome games at the same time. Well, they worked in-between fighting mecha-dinosaurs and future-commandos.
Intended to be frantic, almost bullet-hell style of shooter, that doesn't mean that Super Time Force doesn't take its time to stop and smell the roses. For instance, check out this new(ish) trailer which shows off the slow-motion power up. With the slow-motion power-up players can shoot future-police methodically and with intention. It's much more personal, which is really what Super Time Force is all about. Empathy. Okay not really.
No, as far as I can tell Super Time Force is all about fun and shooting, but mostly the fun... and shooting. Doing those things both at the same time is the best recipe. Embrace the insanity, the ridiculousness, and let yourself be taken in. Classic 2D side-scrolling shooters are all about precision and punishment -- death is really inevitable without extreme amounts of practice. Super Time Force is better than that. Super Time Force promises that everything will be fine... in time.
Super Time Force is out now exclusively on Xbox One and Xbox 360 for the price of $14.99.
